photoSanta Clarita Valley Wine Enthusiasts

I was looking for a great way to kickoff our new Wine Enthusiasts Meetup so I decided to go with what this is all about. Wine, Food, Learning ....and of course a GREAT time. So, our First SCVWE Meetup is going to be an Italian Wine, Food and Mural adventure. I am asking that each Wine Enthusiast bring a bottle of Italian Wine and an Italian appetizer. So,a couple will bring two bottles. I will have a mural artist here and those who are willing can be part of painting a Tuscany Landscape Mural. Don't worry if you are not an artist, it is a blast being part of the adventure. ( I have downloaded some photos of a Wine and Bacchus/Venus Mural painting Meetup to give a little slice of the fun that can be had in a few hours time.) We will be able to taste and talk about great Italian Wine..( I am not tied to a rating system, but I do find that if everyone brings bottles with an 88 PT Rating or higher from one of the main wine periodicals we don't have a large disparity in quality, Thx) The appetizer is your choice, just go Italian. I will ask for RSVPs
as this Meetup will be limited to 22 Wine Lovers. When you RSVP please tell me what you think of when you think of Tuscany, and I will have the artist add that into our pre-mural sketch. He will then help us create a little Tuscany here in SCV. I look forward to meeting many new friends, seeing some I have known for awhile, and making a whole new set of memories. Salute! A presto.

Running & Run-Walk classes are now weekly endurance training, with the goal of completing the Santa to the Sea half-marathon 12/12/10.

Join us to run or run-walk with an inspiring group on beautiful routes around Westlake Lake and the surrounding neighborhoods. See the training plan below to know the distance planned each week.

Meet at the lake in the Westlake Landing Shopping Center parking lot.

Running & Run-Walk classes will warm up together. Then off we go around the lake and beyond. Each class has a dedicated Instructor to set the pace, lead the group on each week's distance course, and provide intervals for run-walkers.

Run-walkers will run in approximately 3-minute intervals with 30-second walk intervals - Great for endurance training, fat-burning, and confidence building!

Do allow an 1 1/2 - 2 hours for class, and more as distance reaches over 8-miles. Class includes warm-up, 4.5-12 miles (depending on the week, see Training Plan below), and stretching.

Please RSVP and indicate if you plan to RUN or RUN-WALK so Instructors are scheduled appropriately.

Please be aware that due to the nature of the lake and city development, we will be in close proximity to traffic throughout the class. It is imperative that you run responsibly for the safety of yourself and your child. BRING WATER. Restrooms are at The Landing at the beginning and end of class.
